Nearly 100 volunteers stepped up and participated at the recent blood donation drive organized by JTI, in cooperation with the Humanitarian Blood Donation Center of Red Cross Ho Chi Minh City. JTI staff, joined by volunteers from the other offices in Pearl Plaza building, turned the initiative into an overwhelming success as the initial target number for donors was not only met, but exceeded as well.

Due to the pandemic, which has taken a bad turn this year in Ho Chi Minh, there has been a 30% decrease in the number of blood donors. By mid-year, the city’s blood reserves have alarmingly reached low levels. The city authorities have been calling for blood donations through various private and public organizations as well as from the public at large.

In parallel with its advocacy for community involvement and safety, JTI took action and heeded this call by coordinating a blood donation campaign. The company organizers made sure that 5K practices were observed so as to assure volunteers are kept safe while making their selfless contribution.
